NEW VINEYARD, Maine - Laurel (Davella) Adams, 65, of New Vineyard, Maine passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.

She was born on Nov. 13, 1947, in Meriden, to Anthony Joseph Davella and Mildred Pierson Davella. She grew up in Cheshire and enjoyed visiting her Aunt Astrid's farm in Willimantic and sneaking tastes of salted hamburger at Anthony's store, Davella Market. She graduated at the top of her class from Cheshire High School and went on to attend Rhode Island School of Design. While living in Providence, R.I., Laurel met her future husband Stephen Adams and they married in 1974. The couple moved to the beautiful woods of Maine in 1976, and welcomed their daughter, Daisy, in 1979. Laurel's life in Maine was filled with the love of many wonderful friends, the companionship of her pets and countless hours in her flower garden. She was an artist in every way, bringing creativity and style to all aspects of her life. Laurel spent many happy years working as the manager of Mainestone Jewelry in Farmington, Maine. She was a true Anglophile and enjoyed two wonderful trips to England, once with Daisy and once with Stephen. Other happy trips included going to Grant's Camps in Rangeley, Maine with Anthony and Mildred and trips to the coast with her mother, sister and daughter. Laurel was predeceased by her mother, Mildred Davella.

She is survived by her father, Anthony Davella, Sr., of Cheshire; her devoted husband, Stephen S. Adams, of New Vineyard; her daughter, Daisy Adams Ellard and her husband, Nicholas Ellard, of Dover, N.H.; her sister, Jean Davella, of Meriden; her brother, Anthony Davella, Jr., and his wife, Karen, of Nevis.

A celebration of Laurel's life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to may send a donation in her name to: Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Road, Farmington, ME 04938.
