SOUTHINGTON - Madaline ( Blasi) Topshe, 80, of Southington, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at CT Hospice in Branford. She was the wife of the late Douglas G. Topshe.

Madaline was born on Jan. 20, 1933, in Scranton, Pa., the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary (Sordi) Blasi.
She is survived by her precious children, Diane Anderson and her husband, Russ, Richard Topshe and his wife, Joyce Ann and Joanne Topshe; grandchildren she adored, Nicholas Impionbato, Jason Topshe and Keri Ann Topshe. She is also survived by a dear brother, Robert Blasi and his wife, Doris; along with many caring nieces and nephews. Maddy was predeceased by her dear son, Douglas Jr.; and her special angel grandson, Joseph "Joey" Impionbato. She also leaves many dear friends who were always available during her time of need and her family says "thank you" to each of you. Maddy loved occasional trips to the casino with daughter Joanne and her friends and also the many card games on Sunday and Tuesday evening. Daily phone calls from friends and family were very uplifting. Madaline worked as a paraprofessional for 27 years for the Southington School system. After retirement, she worked part-time as a receptionist at the Orchards of Southington and volunteered for several years as a scheduler for the American Red Cross blood drives in Southington. She also volunteered at the Southington Community Services for a brief time until her illness. Maddy was a member of the American Legion Aux. She was a parishioner of Mary Our Queen Church and a member of the church's Ladies Guild.
A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St. Plantsville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours.
