Mary (Dudzik) Ross, 89, of Southington, beloved wife of Alfred "Lefty" Ross, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sept. 23, 2012.

Born in Southington, Dec. 10, 1922, the daughter of the late George and Agnes (Kusek) Dudzik, and had lived in Southington most of her life. Mary was a graduate for Lewis High School in Southington Class of 1941. She and her husband attended her 70th class reunion at the Manor Inn. She worked for G. Fox for 10 years and at As You Like it Cleaners for 50 years from where she just retired in May 2012. She was a dedicated worker and always had a smile and kind heart for others. She will be missed by family, friends and many customers.

She is survived by three brothers, William "Bill" Dudzik, of Farmington, George and his wife, Donna Dudzik, of Plantsville and Frank Dudzik, of Southington; three sisters, Jennie "Jean" and her husband, Edward Myska, of New Britain, Lil Costello, of Southington and Gladys Haber, of Forestville; and many nieces and nephews. Duke, her nephew, had a very special place in her heart. She will never forget how much her nephew, Duke, and his father, George, and his mother, Donna, did to keep her yard looking like a picture in a magazine plus other chores they did. Mary loved dancing, especially the polka. She and her husband enjoyed vacationing for many years in North Conway, N.H. with friends from Canada and Beverly, Mass. They also loved going to Foxwoods Casino on Sundays with friends from Rhode Island and Wallingford and family. She enjoyed playing games and cards with the family every Saturday night and on Friday with family and friends in Torrington.
She was predeceased by a brother, John "Duke" Dudzik and a sister, Amelia "Amy" Parzych.
She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Polish National Church, 200 Summer St., Plantsville.

The Funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 28, 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, with prayers said by Rev. Christopher Caton. Burial will be private in the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Cemetery on Prospect Street. Calling hours were Sept. 27, from 4 to 8 .
