KILLINGWORTH- Maynard Field, 82, of Killingworth, passed away quietly on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, surrounded by his family, after an extended illness.

He was born in Greene, Maine on Oct. 11, 1931, and was the eldest son of Francis and Arlene (Parker) Field, both deceased.

He leaves behind his wife, Ruth Field, (Killingworth); daughters, Diane Sanderson (Philip,) of Stratford, and Dawn Aldrich (Peter,) of Wallingford; brothers, Ray Field (Greene, Maine), Percy Field (Augusta, Maine), and Lloyd Field, (Lascassas, Tenn.); six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. One daughter, Dorothy May Field predeceased him. He retired from Stop & Shop after 28 years of service as a truck driver and was a member of Teamsters Local 443. He was a Veteran of the Korean conflict.

The family will celebrate his home-going with a quiet remembrance and intimate luncheon. They request that he be remembered by donations to Neonatology at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, CT. http://www.connecticutchildrensfoundation.org/giving/tribute_gifts). His family will always miss his broad smile and sense of humor. He will be remembered as an unconditional friend to everyone he met.
