WALLINGFORD - Ralph J. Jackson, Sr., 74, of Cheshire, beloved husband of Nancy Adams Jackson, departed this life on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at Mid-State Medical Center.

Ralph was born on Oct. 7, 1939 in St. Petersburg, Fla., son of the late Thelma Kish. He owned and operated Jackson Testing in Cheshire, where he worked as an Air Balancing Engineer. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and won gardening awards including the Cheshire Beauty Spot of the Month. In his younger years he was a Recording Artist with his brother, Tom, they were known as "The Jackson Brothers" and had top 40 hits and appeared on American Bandstand; more recently he performed for a number of years with his family's wedding band called The Townpeople.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years Nancy, of Cheshire, and their children, Ralph Jackson, Jr., of Stafford Springs, Alan Jackson and his wife, Debbie, of Cheshire, and Thomas Jackson, of Meriden; he also leaves his brother, Tom Jackson and his wife, Heidi, of Maryland; Ralph leaves six beloved grandchildren, Jeanne - Marie, Erin, Trevor, Sean, Hope, and Hannah; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne - Marie.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Epiphany, 1750 Huckins Road, Cheshire. There are no calling hours.
