MERIDEN - Surrounded by her family, Renee Mary Jarvis Reimer passed away from pancreatic cancer on Friday, September 14, 2012, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Born in Meriden on October 5, 1945, to Eugene and Rita Jarvis, Renee was a proud Maloney Spartan. After graduation, a period of nursing training ultimately led her to a career in medical office management. She worked in the Meriden office of the late Dr. Daniel Kahn, and subsequently, at Glastonbury Dermatological Associates. Upon her 2005 relocation to Rock Hill, South Carolina, anticipating a well-earned retirement, she continued to work for several more years at the Carolina Center for Rheumatology in Rock Hill. She was a volunteer for Meals-On-Wheels at the York County Council on Aging.
Renee is survived by her husband, Daniel P. Reimer of Rock Hill, S.C., her daughter Susan Adele LeDuc and son-in-law T.J. LeDuc, and their son, Zachary Daniel LeDuc, of Moodus, her son, Timothy Patrick Katkauskas, his wife Dina and their daughter Kellie Victoria Katkauskas and son Joshua Jeffrey Hill, all of Meriden, and Renee's brother, Eugene Jarvis, his wife Louise Jarvis, of Roxbury, Maine, and their children, Michelle Keyes, and Michael and Sal Falconeri, as well as Daniel's brother Chris J. Reimer of Cascade, Colo., and his daughter Kate Reimer of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Renee's friend of 55 years, Jan Saunders of Haddam Neck.
A memorial Mass for Renee will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at St. Stanislaus Church in Meriden. There are no calling hours.
A reception to celebrate Renee's life will follow the Mass at Violi's Restaurant at Hunter Golf Club, 688 Westfield Road, Meriden.
Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden.
