MERIDEN - Robert E. Samsel Sr., 46, died unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at MidState Medical Center. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Leslie (Chabot) Samsel, his loving wife and soul mate of eight years.

He couldn't wait to become a father and he was the best ever. Robert was an avid Red Sox Fan and had hopes his son would someday pitch for the team. He loved animals especially his cats and enjoyed all types of music. Robert truly enjoyed spending time with his friends from high school, college and "Cooper 4".
