WALLINGFORD - Ruth M. Leibe, 92, wife of the late William Leibe Sr., died on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Masonic Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness.

She was born in New Haven in 1921 to the late Walter and Lousie (Kromer) McLean. She lived in South Meriden from 1945 until 2000, and worked for the former Meriden-Wallingford Hospital till her retirement in 1984. Ruth was past Noble Grand of Anchor Rebekah Lodge 48, past member of the Washington Park Drum Corp. Committee, the Meriden-Wallingford Hospital Auxiliary, the Meriden Turner Society and Immanuel Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, William and Marilyn Leibe, of So. Meriden and Russell and Nancy Leibe, of Rowley, Mass.; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh) Marshall and Kenneth Leibe; and one great-grandson, Collin Marshall. She also leaves three sisters, June Meeker and Doris Larese, both of Southington and Mrs. Eugen (Barbara) Munzo, of So. Meriden; and one brother, Walter McLean and his wife, Karen, of Cape Cod, Mass. She was predeceased by four sisters.
Ruth's family would like to thank Jane Tomaselli, RN and her staff on Ramage 3 for their compassionate and professional care.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Alden Barnes will officiate. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service.
