MERIDEN - Vincenzo (Jimmy) Buccilli, 90, husband of Terzina (DiBacco) Buccilli, died peacefully at home on Thursday, June 6, 2013, after a brief illness.

Born in Pratola Peligna, Province of L'Aquila, Italy on Jan. 23, 1923, he was the son of the late Domenico and Maria (Santilli) Buccilli. He came to America in 1954 and resided in Meriden since 1955. Mr. Buccilli was employed by the City of Meriden for 30 years as a backhoe operator. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a lifetime member of the Bocci Club. Mr. Buccilli loved wine making and gardening. He was especially proud of his vegetable and flower gardens as well as his fig tree and grape vines.
Besides his wife Terzina, he is survived by two sons, Sergio Buccilli and his wife, Barbara, of Cheshire and Rico Buccilli and his wife, Andrea, of Meriden; four grandchildren, Michael Buccilli and his wife, Juliette, Kristina Kiely and her husband, Ed, Jennifer Moseley and her husband, Jake and Courtney Buccilli; three great-grandchildren, Nolan Keily, Norah Keily and Gemma Buccilli; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Alberto, Pietro and Antonio Buccilli; and a sister, Gemma DiCristofaro.
The funeral will be held on Monday, June 10, at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden and at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
