MERIDEN- Marjorie Potter, beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Potter, died on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014.

Born in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Helen Antonio. Mrs. Potter was a lifelong Meriden resident and attended local schools. She assisted several local doctors and before retirement worked for Dr. John Conroy. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. She and her late husband especially enjoyed visiting their son, the Rev. Thomas Potter and his wife, Elin Potter, in Jefferson, ME. Mrs. Potter enjoyed playing Bridge with several local groups. She was a member of, and served on several boards, of the Meriden-Wallingford Hospital and MidState Medical Center Auxillary. She was a member of the Infinity Circle at MidState and a volunteer and driver for the American Red Cross. Mrs. Potter enjoyed entertaining friends and family at the beach, the Home Club, Farms Country Club and the Graduate Club in New Haven. She and her husband traveled to Europe several times and flew on the Concorde.

Besides her son and daughter-in-law, she leaves three brothers, Fred (Jan) Antonio, Donald Antonio and Robert (Nancy) Antonio; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Horowzy; and a brother, Louis DeAntonio.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, Feb.18, at 10:30 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden and at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home prior to the Mass from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., Meriden, CT 06450 or to MidState Medical Center, 435 Lewis Ave. Meriden, CT 06451.
