SOUTHINGTON - Edmund Quinlan, 79, of Southington, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014 at home. He was the husband of the late Rose (DiFranco) Quinlan.

He was born Feb. 2, 1935 in Southington, the son of the late Martin and Helen (Leete) Quinlan. He had been employed by the town of Southington Parks Dept. and retired as the caretaker for the Barnes Museum. Prior to being employed by the Parks Dept. and the Barnes Museum he was employed by Southington Hardware. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, a past Eucharistic Minister and a lifelong parishioner of St. Thomas Church.
He is survived by his children, David Quinlan and his wife, Susan, Daniel Quinlan and Karen Quinlan and his grandson Art Quinlan, all of Southington; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Robert Quinlan.
The funeral will be held Friday, 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery with military honors.
