MERIDEN- Daniel L. Isyk, 92, beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Gibbons) Isyk died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Westfield Care & Rehabilitation.

Born on Dec. 20, 1921, he was the son of the late Izydor and Antoinette (Yaras) Izyk. Daniel was a lifelong resident of Meriden. He attended local schools and was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Church. Daniel proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed as a supervisor for the Meriden Board of Education from where he retired. Daniel also worked for many years at the Mason Auction Gallery.

He is survived by his son, Timothy Isyk and his wife, Diane, of Meriden; his cherished granddaughter, Vanessa Isyk, of Meriden; stepgrandson, Evan J. Golebiewski; his sister-in-law, Carolin Fontaine and her husband, William, of Meriden; a brother-in-law, James Gibbons and his wife, Beverly, of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers; and one sister.

His funeral with military honors will be private. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden.
