WALLINGFORD- Leona Kosienski Godek, 85, of Wallingford, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry V. Godek.

Born in Meriden, Nov. 5, 1928, a daughter of the late Leon and Mary Kusza Kosienski, she had been a Wallingford resident for many years. She and her husband were the joint proprietors of Godek Dairy Farm in Wallingford until her retirement. She was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church.
Mrs. Godek is survived by her daughters, Milly and Philmore Jones, of Durham, N.C., Judy Godek, of Laconia, N.H., Pat Godek and Joe Davis; her son, Alfred Godek; her son-in-law, Kenneth Carpenter, all of Wallingford; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Frances Bakaj, of Wallingford, and Mary Muszynski, of San Antonio, Texas; her sister-in-law, Mitzi Godek; her niece/daughter, Susan Godek, of Wallingford, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Leona "Cookie" Carpenter; her sisters, Milly Kordys, Theresa Czaja, Betty Kozak, and Dorothy Krupa; and her brother, Anthony Kosienski.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the wonderful caregivers from Masonicare at Home, Jan, Anna, and Margaret, and the staff of Masonicare Home and Hospice.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St., Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday, March 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, corner of Akron and Olive St., Meriden. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
