WALLINFORD - Shirley A. Trailer Cassella, 81, of the Yalesville section of Wallingford, died Wednesday, April 09, 2014, at MidState Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael C. Cassella.

Born in Meriden, Sept. 15, 1932, a daughter of the late Michael and Bessie Kovach Trailer, she was a Yalesville resident for 55 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Schiller and her husband, Paul, of West Haven; her two sons, Michael P. Cassella, of Jefferson, Maine, and James Cassella and his wife, Jayne, of Canton, Ga.; her grandchildren, Daniel Cassella and his wife, Hectamarie, of Newington, Michael J. Cassella, of Atwood, Ill., and Sarah Cassella and her husband, Jesse Kadel, of St. Charles, Mo.; her great-grandson, Michael T. Cassella; and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Yalesville section of Wallingford, Friday, April 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Yalesville Funeral Home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington.
