WALLINGFORD - Philip J. Madonna, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford, where he has been a resident for the past eight years.

Philip was born in New Haven, Dec. 24, 1928, the son of the late Angelo Madonna and Mary Passariello Madonna and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army (military police) and was employed as an electronics technician for many years.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy and Susan Madonna, Mary Bateman, and Colleen Chapman; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Rose Ellis; and his brother, Joseph Madonna; and also the mother of his children, Jean Madonna.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at Masonicare and a special thanks to Sylvia Parker, Daewoo and our dad's favorite, Robin Hollman.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. in the State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. 06457. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext.
