CHESHIRE - Leo J. Woronick, Jr., 63, husband of Diane Woronick, died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014.

Born and raised in Meriden on March 2, 1951, he was a son of the late Leo and Stacia (Siemak) Woronick Sr. Mr. Woronick was a graduate of St. Stanislaus School and Maloney High School, attended the University of Houston and was an alumnus of Central Connecticut State University. He was a great-father and family man with a heart of gold who will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Amy Sweder and her husband, Troy, of Methuen, Mass.; a son, Scott Woronick and his wife, Stephanie, of Cheshire; three grandchildren, Kaya and Trey Sweder and Ava Woronick; and a sister, Kathy Smith and her husband, Michael, of Seymour. Leo is also survived by a brother in law, Gerald Cordore Jr.; and a niece, Kim O'Meara and her husband, Tim.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, on Monday, April 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service at the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, April 15, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
