MERIDEN - Nancy Ann Mackiewicz Menard, daughter of Barbara Hollman Mackiewicz and the late Edwin J. Mackiewicz, Jr., and Arlene Pontolillo Mackiewicz, died on Wednesday, May 28, 2014.

Born in Meriden on Dec. 29, 1965, she was a graduate of Horace C. Wilcox Technical School, class of 1983, as a hairdresser and worked at Bernadette's Beauty Salon in Cheshire for some 15 years. In 2006, she attended Branford Hall Career Institute and graduated as a massage therapist. She was last employed as a massage therapist at Grant Chiropractic Health Center in Milldale. Nancy was a parishioner of Holy Angels Church and as a teenager was honored to crown the Statue of Mary, Our Blessed Mother.

In addition to her mother, Barbara, she is survived by her daughter, Kendra Arlene Menard; and her son, Chad Patrick Menard, to both of whom she was a devoted, caring and loving mother. She is also survived by her brother, Edwin J. Mackiewicz III and his wife, Mary and her favorite and very special niece and nephew, Beth and Thomas, all of Indialantic, Fla.; and three special aunts, Joan Pontolillo (also her godmother), Mildred Frederick and Audrey Hollman; and several cousins; former husband, Kenneth Menard; his father and siblings. Nancy is also survived by her many numerous friends, too many to name, but you know who you are.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 9:15 am from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden and at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Church, 585 Main St., South Meriden for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, (TODAY), from 4 to 8 p.m. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to Holy Angels Church, 585 Main St., South Meriden.

Nancy would want to thank Dr. Fumo and all the nurses in the Midstate Medical Center Chemotherapy Department who gave her so much love and attention.
