MERIDEN - Florence Irene Wysocki, 87, beloved wife for 63 years of Joseph Wysocki, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.

Florence was born March 28, 1927, in New Britain, daughter of the late Felix Talalaj and Stella (Mazanski) Talalaj. She graduated from New Britain High School in 1945, and then began working at the Fafnir Bearing Company in New Britain for a period of 10 years. Florence married Joseph Wysocki in 1950 and lived in Meriden for 55 years. After raising her two children, Florence began working at CUNO Corporation in Meriden where she was employed for 20 years. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church, and a member of the Ladies Guild.
In addition to her husband Joseph, Florence is survived by her daughter, Christine Riccio and her husband, William, of Southington; and her son, Gregory Wysocki, of Meriden. She is also survived by her sisters, Anna Talalaj, Teresa Kask, and Helen Talalaj, all of New Britain; and a brother, Henry Talalaj and his wife , Bertha, also of New Britain. Florence was predeceased by her brother, Chester Talalaj, and is also survived by a sister-in-law, Stephanie Wysocki, of Meriden; and and a brother-in-law, Edward Dutriewicz, of Berlin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Florence had a great expertise in cooking and baking, and oftentimes brought these dishes to a wide variety of gatherings. She also loved to sing in church and at parties, and enjoyed traveling, especially to her favorite destination, Virginia Beach, Va., where Florence and Joseph spent their weekly vacation for 20 years. Florence also volunteered in the Meriden School system where she assisted students in reading.
The family extends a special thank you to the Wooster 3 unit of the Masonicare Health Center. Florence spent the last 14 months of her life there, and thrived under the expert care of the fabulous people employed there. A special thank you is also due to Chaplain Quoos and Chaplain Morris of the Masonicare Health Center for their spiritual support during this difficult time.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, June 9, at 9:30 a.m. from the Stempien Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Stanislaus Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, May 9, from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at the Stempien Funeral Home.
