WALLINGFORD - Vincent Greco Sr., 85, of Wallingford, loving husband of the late Gwendolyn "Connie" Earley Greco, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in his home.

Vincent was born in New Haven, Aug. 27, 1928, a son of the late Ralph Greco and Lillian Apuzzo Greco and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He had been employed as a truck driver for several companies as a member of the Teamsters Local 443. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New York Giants.

He is survived by his children, Vincent (Gail) Greco, of South Carolina, James (Marybeth) Greco, and Edward Greco, all of Wallingford, Gayle Greco, of Meriden, and Ceceilia Greco and Ricky Greco, both of Wallingford; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two children, Sanford Greco and Jean Greco; two daughters-in-law, Marian Greco and Judy Greco; his sister, Ann Marie Wilkens; and his brother, Benjamin Greco.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Monday, June 23, from 9 until 10:30 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to the Church of the Resurrection, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to Closer to Free, P. O. Box 7611, New Haven, CT. 06519.
