COLUMBIA - Kenneth John Gervais, 59, of Columbia, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 19, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Diane Gervais.

He was born in Meriden, June 24, 1954, a son of Raymond Gervais and the late Rita LeBel Gervais. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a police officer for the State of Connecticut, was just retiring as a faculty member at Great Path Academy within Hartford Public Schools. He enjoyed camping and served as the Director of the Connecticut Good Sams Club in his spare time.

In addition to his wife, Diane, and father, Raymond, he is survived by his sons, Christopher and Dennis; brothers, Donald, Allen, Mark, Paul, Gene; and sister, Pam Rule; along with several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 26, at 10 a.m. in Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 S. Colony St., Wallingford. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Laurent Cemetery in Meriden. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, CT 06492.
