WALLINGFORD - Robert E. Sisk, 69, of Wallingford and Naples, Fla., passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at home, after a long illness. Beloved husband of Patricia Burns Sisk. Loving father of Robert E. Sisk, of Wallingford; David B. (Michelle) Sisk, of Salisbury, N.H.; and Jennifer E. (Kimberly) Sisk, of West Hartford. Cherished grandfather of David, Dustin, Dalton, Zackary, Madison, Maryn, Aaron, Gabriel, and Weston Sisk. Brother of Mary Rose McManus, of North Haven; Frances D. Stillman, of Naples, Fla.; Edward J. Sisk, of Naples, Fla.; Patrick H. (Maureen) Sisk, of Madison; and the late Thomas R. Sisk and Carroll Alice Peck. Also survived by a sister-in-law, Terry Sisk, of Naples, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Born Nov. 13, 1944, in New Haven, a son of the late Edward J. and Alice Carroll Sisk, he was a graduate of Amity High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He joined the family business and was an owner and funeral director for many years with Sisk Brothers Funeral Homes in New Haven, Hamden, East Haven, and Branford. He was a longtime member and supporter of the Knights of St. Patrick, a member of the Connecticut and National Funeral Directors Associations, and was named an honorary Kentucky Colonel.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 10 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden. Friends are requested to go directly to church. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Calling hours at Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden will be Wednesday, July 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to the Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation, 2969 Whitney Ave., Suite 1-R, Hamden, CT 06518-2556.
