SOUTHINGTON - Francis J. Trafidlo, 68, of Plantsville, passed away peacefully at HCC New Britain Campus on Thursday, July 10, 2014, after a courageous battle with lymphoma. He was surrounded by his loving family. Fran was the husband of Eileen (Makepeace) Trafidlo.

He was born on Dec. 31, 1945, in Torrington and was the son of the late John and Mary (Kaprusak) Trafidlo. Fran was employed by the Meriden School System and had retired from there. He enjoyed traveling and working with his hands. He was" famous" for his well manicured lawn. Fran took loving care of his family and enjoyed watching his grandsons grow.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Katie Kavadas and her husband, Nick, of Cheshire and Sarah Dutilly and her husband, Chris, of Alpharetta, Ga.; a brother, Thomas Trafidlo and his wife, Evelyn, of Barnegat, N.J.; three grandchildren, Nick and Alex Kavadas and Jack Dutilly; along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 12, from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., in Plantsville. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
