MERIDEN - Roberto Alonzo, 75, of Meriden, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Gaylord Hospital. He was the husband of Rafaela (Moreno) Alonzo.

Born June 10, 1939, in Arecibo, P.R., he was the son of the late Eladio and Carmen (Diaz) Alonzo. Roberto was a parishioner of St. Rose Church.

In addition to his wife Rafaela, he leaves three children, Roberto Alonso Jr., and wife, Awilda, of W. Palm Beach, Fla; Vivian Alonso-Rosa and husband, Frank, of Meriden, and Judith Alonso-Surita and husband, Jorge Luis, of Green Acres, Fla.; four grandchildren, Roberto Alonso III, Daniel Alonso, Noel Marcos Surita and Miranda Antonia Rosa; and one sister, Julia Santiago, of Brooklyn, N.Y. He was predeceased by a sister, Juana Roman.

A memorial Mass will be held Friday, July 25, at 2 p.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Meriden. There are no calling hours and burial will be at a later date in Puerto Rico.
