MERIDEN - Elmer Frank Dallesander, 88, died peacefully at his home in Meriden on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014. He was the loving husband of Gloria Montefiore Dallesander for over 48 years. Born in Hartford on Aug. 14, 1926, he was the son of the late Thomas and Kathleen (O'Rouke) Dallesander. He had resided in Meriden for the past 25 years, and most recently in Southington for 15 years. He graduated from Buckley High School and the University of Hartford with a master's degree.

Mr. Dallesander was employed by the State of Connecticut as the chief budget analyst for 30 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy.

He was a board member at the World War II Veteran's Memorial Hospital and a member of the Wisemen. He was an animal lover and donated time to the Meriden Humane Society. He enjoyed gardening and family gatherings.

Besides his loving wife, Gloria, he is survived by brother and sister-in-law, William and Florence Montefiore; sister-in-law, Joann Costello; three nieces, Denise Kupstis, Jodi Dufresne, and Dana Knickerbocker; a nephew, David Montefiore; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Dallesander.

A private service will be held with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The John J. Ferry & Sons funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden is in charge of arrangements.
