NEWINGTON - Rosemary (Walsh) Golden, 90, of Newington formerly of Meriden, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at Jefferson House in Newington after a lengthy illness.

Born in New York, N. Y. on Nov. 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Harrison) Walsh. She resided in Meriden for over 60 years. She graduated from St. Rose of Lima School, Meriden High School and St. John's University School of Nursing. Ms. Golden was employed by Newington VA Hospital as a registered nurse over 35 years and more recently was assistant Director of Nursing until her retirement in 1985. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church.
She is survived by two nieces, Lynn A. Barnes, of Newington and Deborah J. Carpenter, her husband, David and their daughter, Kaitlin Carpenter, all of Burlington; two nephews, James G. Barnes and his wife, Patricia, of Meriden and Michael R. Barnes, of New York City. She was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Wilkom, of Meriden.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be held Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 35 Center St., in Meriden. Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E.
