WALLINGFORD - Josephine Bacci Stokes, 88, of Wallingford, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford.

She was born in Wallingford, Dec. 21, 1923, a daughter of the late Nickola and Anna Pagni Bacci and had been employed at Times Fiber Communications for 23 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars - Major Raoul Lufbery Post 591 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Shaw Sinon Post 73.
She is survived by her two sons, James A. Whitney Sr., and Robert E. Stokes: her grandchildren, James A. Whitney Jr., and his wife, Christine, Jennifer A. Whitney; her great-grandchildren, Paige Whitney, Evan Waycott, Jacob Whitney, Emily Whitney and Ryan Whitney; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marie Rizzo, Ann Angelo and Helen Fishbein; and her brothers, Benjamin Bacci and Louis Bacci.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Friday, April, 13, from 9 until 10:45 a.m. A funeral service will be held in The Wallingford Funeral Home on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Center Street Cemetery in Wallingford.
