MERIDEN - Braulio Santiago Sr., 83, formerly of Aguadilla, P.R., husband of Ana Lydia (Torres) Santiago, died on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, with his family by his side after a long illness.

Born in Hatillo, P.R. on Oct. 26, 1928, he was the son of the late Felix and Pascuala (Valentin) Santiago. He came to New York at sixteen and resided in Meriden since 1953. He attended schools in Puerto Rico. Mr. Santiago was employed by Charles Parker in Meriden, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Christian Pentecostal Church.

Besides his wife of sixty years, he is survived by one daughter, Norma Santiago-Walberg, of Meriden; one son, Braulio Santiago and his wife, Sandy, of Durham; five grandchildren, Wanda Mejias, Diane Rodriguez, Elias Santiago and his companion, Flor, Jordan and Alexandra Santiago; one great-grandson, Elias Michael Santiago; one brother, Polonio Santiago and his wife, Julie. He is also survived by the Torres family; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Valentin, Manolo, Felipe, Carlos and Gilberto Santiago; one sister, Iraida Santiago, and three brother-in-laws.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden. Burial will be private.
