MERIDEN - Carmen T. Belanger, 83, wife of Raymond Belanger, died on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at The Village at Kensington after a lengthy illness.

Born in Ste. Victor, Quebec Canada on Jan. 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alexandrine (Bourque) Roy. She had resided in Meriden since 1950. She had attended Canadian schools and was a schoolteacher in Canada. Mrs. Belanger was employed as a journeyman printer for City Printing in North Haven prior to retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church.
Besides her husband, Raymond, she is survived by two daughters, Gloria Connell and her husband, Vernon, of Simsbury and Carol Zeiler, of Columbia; four grandchildren, Vernon and Wesley Connell, Jill Giulietti, and Lisa Poirier; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Alberta Rancourt, of Meriden; and one brother, Marius Roy, of Quebec City, Canada. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jeanne Belanger; and also by several brothers and sisters, of Canada.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Laurent Church for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be at the discretion of the family. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, the funeral home on Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m.
