GLASTONBURY - M. Francis (Frank) Byrne, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, after a long illness.

He was born in Darby, Pa. on March 27, 1927, to the late Peter and Mary (Dermody) Byrne. He was a faithful member of both St. Scholastica Roman Catholic Church in Lecanto, Fla. and St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Glastonbury, Conn. Lifelong member of the Collingdale Fire Department 1 in Collingdale, Pa., a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, Chapter 2 in Meriden, Conn., and served his country faithfully in both World War II and the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Navy. Frank is a graduate of St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pa. He was employed for 34 years to C.B. Fleet Company as a pharmaceutical sales rep.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irene (Walsh) Byrne; five children, Renee (Mark) Anderson, of Colchester, Paul (Lisa) Byrne, of Glastonbury, Stephen (Patricia) Byrne, of Media, Pa., Kenneth (Alison) Byrne, of Durham, and Susan (Beat) Jucker, of Royersford, Pa.; and 12 grandchildren, Molly, Colleen and Bridget Anderson, Matthew, Weston and Shannon Byrne, Ashley and Brittany Byrne, Hailey and Conner Byrne and Daniel and Patrick Jucker; his brother, Peter J. Byrne, of Chicago, Ill. and Naples, Fla.; and sister, Anne Hanratty, of Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Road, South Glastonbury. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.
