WALLINGFORD - Donald J. Dietle Sr., 82, of Wallingford, beloved husband of 54 years to Jerrine Hall Dietle, died on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Hartford Hospital.

Donald was born in New Haven, Oct. 4, 1930, a son of the late Joseph F. Dietle Sr., and Arline Paecht Dietle and had been a Wallingford resident for many years. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran. Along side his wife Jerrine, they taught ball room dancing for over 60 years. He was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church.

In addition to his wife, Jerrine, he is survived by his daughter, Dona Dietle, of Farmington; his two sons, John J. Dietle and his wife, Elizabeth, of Cheshire and Donald J. Dietle Jr., and his wife, Kathleen, of Wallingford; his seven grandchildren, Aimee Dietle, Matthew Dietle, Nicholas Valinsky and Benjamin Valinsky, Craig Dietle, Kari Dietle, and Aiden Casey; and his brother, Joseph Dietle Jr., and his wife, Dorothy, of Georgia.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Thursday, Feb.y 28, from 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, from The Wallingford Funeral Home at 9 a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Most Holy Trinity Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. Gifts in his memory may be sent to Most Holy Trinity Church, 68 North Colony St., Wallingford, CT. 06492.
