SOUTHINGTON - Albert Gale, 97, of Southington, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the Southington Care Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Ingrid (Green) Gale.

He was born Oct. 6, 1915, in New York, son of the late Albert and Angela (Fusco) Gale. A veteran of World War II Albert served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific Theater. He retired from New Departure after many years of service. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas Church, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, the Southington Redmen and the American Legion Post 72.
He is survived by three children, Nancy Almquist and husband, Richard Sr., of Southington, Thomas Gale and wife, Michele, of Southington and Barbara Gale, of Kensington; a sister, Julia DeMennato, of Orange; four grandchildren, Karen Perry and husband, Bo, of Plainville, Richard Almquist Jr., Melanie Deal and Thomas Gale Jr., and wife, Melissa, all of Southington; four great-grandchildren, Tommy, Olivia, Bella Rose and Lilly; along with three nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Gale; and a son-in-law, Gerald Thibeault.
Albert's family would like to thank all of the nursing and care staff of the Southington Care Center as well as Steve McCarty the Recreation Director for their dedication to Al.
A funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial with military honors will be at St. Thomas Cemetery.
