Clark Thomas Obituary

GREENFIELD – Clark A. F. Thomas, 79, of Brookside Avenue., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
Clark was born in Nova Scotia, Canada, on Nov. 24, 1932, the son of Clark R. and Ruth H. (Lyle) Thomas. He graduated from South High School in Worcester, Class of 1950, Worcester Junior College with an Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering and then Northeastern University with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Clark proudly served as an Airman First Class with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from November 1952 to his Honorable Discharge in August 1956.
He married the former Barbara Salmon on Sept. 7, 1957, recently celebrating 55 years together.
Clark was an electrical engineer for Western Mass. Electric, now Northeast Utilities for 28 years.
He was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Greenfield, a past member of the Auburn Sportsman's Club, the Springfield Sportsman's Club and the Green River Bowman's Club, a longtime Country Club of Greenfield member, member of the past Franklin County Management Club, the Greenfield Kiwanis Club
for over 40 years where he was treasurer for many years, a life member of the Greenfield B.P.O.E. for over 45 years, an associate member of the Ormond Beach (FL) BPOE, and a member of the Daytona Beach Moose Club.
Clark enjoyed archery, golfing, bowling and dancing.
Survivors include his wife Barbara; two daughters, Lisa D. Thomas of South Hadley and Ruth T. O'Donnell and her husband Thomas J. O'Donnell, Jr. of Longmeadow; MA, a grandson, Thomas Clark O'Donnell, a granddaughter, Norah Riley O'Donnell; a sister, Ruth S. Bodreau of Auburn; several nieces, nephews and grandnieces.
It was Clark's request that services will be private and burial will be at the convenience of the family at Hillside Cemetery in Auburn.
