Yazwinski, Tessie J. - SOUTH DEERFIELD
Tessie Joyce Yazwinski passed away at her home in South Deerfield on 6/17/16 at the age of 91. She was cared for by her children and grandchildren, and the dedicated caregivers of Hospice of Franklin County. Tessie was predeceased by her husband Walter J. Yazwinski after 67 years of married life on their picturesque dairy farm where they raised their four children; Walter Jr. (Pudge), Janet Kelley (Poppi), Annette Docimo (Kootch), and Elaine Anderson (Babe). Tessie will be fondly missed by her five grandchildren, Sara Rourke and husband James, Justin Kelley, Christine Hollaway and husband Justin, Nicole Docimo and husband Mike Skaug, and Jeremy Anderson. Tessie is also survived by six great grandchildren; Chloe and Sydney Rourke, Simon, Luke, and James Holloway, and Ella Rose Skaug. Tessie was born in Whately, graduated from Deerfield High School and went on to Secretarial School in Northampton. She was employed by the telephone company until she married Walter Yazwinski in 1946. They moved to South Deerfield where she became a homemaker and mother for the next seventy years. Tessie was devoted to her family and enjoyed all of their sporting events, dance recitals, and academic achievements. She was an avid knitter and loved professional baseball, football, and basketball. She was Roger Clemens' number one fan. One of Tessie's passions was her perennial garden and most recently the nurturing of her tea roses. She looked forward each day to the new blooms and having fresh cut flowers to brighten her home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Wrisley Funeral Home in South Deerfield. There will be a calling hour on Thursday morning at 10am, the service will be at 11:00 at Wrisley's, and burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in South Deerfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Franklin County, Conway St., Greenfield, MA.
