FitzGerald, Eileen H. - GREENFIELD  
GREENFIELD - Eileen H. Charsky Burdick FitzGerald, 82, of 42 Adams Road, Greenfield passed away early Wednesday, January 28th at home. Born in New Britain, CT August 25, 1932 she was the daughter of Albert and Marguerite Charsky. Eileen attended the Whately/South Deerfield school system. In the mid 60's she attended Rittners School of Floral Design in Boston. She had been employed by Carl's Restaurant, Wesco Transformer Electronics, Army & Navy, all in Greenfield. Eileen starting working at Michael's Flower Shop on Federal St, and in the early '70s purchased the shop and renamed it Burdick's Flower Shoppe. She moved to Newton in 1975 and started working at Shaws in the floral department in the early '90s.She retired from Shaws in W. Roxbury in 2003. Eileen enjoyed her home gardening as well as helping to build Shaws floral department. She moved back to Greenfield in 2002 after the death of her husband Henry K. FitzGerald. Eileen is survived by her daughter Linda L. Heath of Tyngsboro and her son Scott Burdick of Greenfield. Sisters Barbara Bernier of Enfield, Ct and Esther Boyer of Whately. Brothers Albert W. Charsky Jr. of Greenfield and Paul Charsky of Nashua, NH. Granddaughters Sarah Welsh, Rebecca Crosier, Julianne and Elissa Burdick and Great Grandchildren Ian and Jared Welsh and Beatrice Eileen Crosier. Eileen is also survived by her former husband Lawrence Burdick of New Hampshire. Services will be held Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Whately. Burial will be in West Whately Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Franklin County, 329 Conway Street, Greenfield, MA 01301.

Gauthier, Ryan E. - GILL  
Ryan E. Gauthier GILL - Ryan E. Gauthier, 28, of North Cross Rd. died Sunday 4-19-15 in Warwick as the result of an ATV accident. He was born December 24, 1986 in Greenfield the son of Michael and Karen (Chapin) Gauthier. He graduated from Franklin County Tech School in 2005. Ryan was a self-employed landscaper. He enjoyed ATV riding, the outdoors, cooking, spending time with his kids and helping people out especially his dad. Ryan always wore his heart on his ""sleeve"" and it showed with his unwavering support and love to his family, friends and his dog Zion. He was a member of the Greenfield Lodge of Elks #1296. Ryan leaves his parents, Michael and Karen Gauthier of Gill, 2 sons, Jack Ramirez and Bryson Gauthier at home, a brother Jeremy Gauthier of Portsmouth, NH , his girlfriend Emmalie McKnight of Gill , his paternal grandmother Joanne Gauthier of North Hampton, NH , his maternal grandparents Sandra and Robert Dean of Bernardston, Art and Marilyn Chapin of Leyden, his maternal great grandmother Leila Baltzer of Gill, his aunts Cheryl (Earl) Williams of Florida, Nancy(Don) Burke of Greenfield, Karalee Bassett and her partner John McMahon of Greenfield, and Kathy (Steve) Boliver of Bernardston and a much loved nephew, Lucas Gauthier of Portsmith, NH. Ryan also leaves many friends and cousins. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday (4/29) at 11 a.m. at Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls. There are no calling hours. Giard, Jeanne Estelle (Rainville) - COLRAIN  
COLRAIN – Jeanne Estelle (Rainville) Giard, 82, of Nelson Purington Road, died Saturday (4/18/15) after an illness, with family by her side. She was born Dec. 1, 1932, to the late Wilbert and Rosalie (LeCompte) Rainville, grew up in West Springfield and moved to Heath with her family when she was 17. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Giard Sr., in 1996, and her brothers, Wilbert Rainville Jr. in 2010 and Michael Rainville in 2005. Jeanne is survived by her children, Patricia (Giard, Poisson) McReynolds of Henderson, Nev., George Jr. of Tennessee, Donna (Giard) Hyytinen of Heath, Debbie (Giard) Seibert of Greenfield, Michael of Colrain, Sandra Giard of Heath, Paul of Colrain, and Mark of Shelburne Falls, a sister, Dolores (Rainville) Churchill of Heath, two sisters-in-law, Betty Rainville and Martha Rainville, and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as several lifelong family friends. Jeanne also raised several short- and long-term foster children, whom she loved as her own. Many of them stayed in touch throughout the years, affectionately referring to Jeanne's biological children as their ""aunts and uncles."" The matriarch of her large family, Jeanne was happiest with a house full of friends and family. When hosting large gatherings, Jeanne always made sure everyone had a job to do, and nobody went hungry. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and jigsaw puzzles. Her motherly instinct extended to her community as well. Jeanne worked for several years as a machine operator at Mohawk Plastics and Kendall Mills, and ran a package store with her husband in Colrain Center. She enjoyed community involvement and volunteer work, serving as an EMT in Colrain for 25 years, working with elders in respite care and helping at area nursing homes. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, in Greenfield. For several years, Jeanne ran a Bingo night to benefit the Colrain Fire and Ambulance departments. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today (4/23) and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday in Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home, 40 Church St., Shelburne Falls. A funeral service, with Father John A. Roach, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Parish, 34 Monroe Ave., Shelburne Falls. Burial will follow in West Branch Cemetery, Colrain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, 164 High St.; or Charlene Manor Extended Care, 130 Colrain Road, Greenfield, MA 01301.

Holder, Amanda L. - SHELBURNE  
SHELBURNE - Amanda L. Holder, 32, of Anderson Road passed away Sunday 4/12/15 at home surrounded by her loved ones after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Cullman, AL, on April 30, 1982, the daughter of Ronald Holder and Madlyn (Gagnon) Crouse. She attended Turners Falls High School class of 2000 and Greenfield Community College. In recent years, Amanda was a housekeeper at various local hotels. Prior to that, she worked as a dispatcher at Ace Cab in Greenfield  and did transport at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. In her earlier years, Amanda was a horse showmanship professional. She adored horses her entire life and fulfilled her dream of owning one when she got a mini-pony she named Maple. Unfortunately her illness forced her to give her up for adoption. She had a gift for scrap booking and baking. When her oldest son started playing sports she was his biggest supporter, always at his games and helping out with the teams in any way she could. Family was the most important thing in Amanda's life and her favorite past time was spending time with her children and her many nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed playing with her two dogs, Murdock and Melvin. Among her survivors, Amanda leaves her love of 17 years Michael Ramsdell Sr and their two sons Michael Ramsdell Jr. and Maddox Ramsdell, her parents, Carl and Madlyn Crouse, her best friend and sister, Tiffany Holder, all of Shelburne Falls, two brothers, Anthony Holder and his wife Amy of Buckland and Rodney Holder and his fiancée Patty Carroll of Shelburne Falls, sisters, Lori Speegle and her husband Heath of Heath, Amy Crouse of Shelburne Falls, Tracy Crouse and her husband Mark Hendrickson of Greenfield and Amanda MacLeay and her partner Gregg Clark of  Swanzey, NH, her grandparents, Walt and Beverly Gleason of Heath, in-laws, Irene and Phil Ramsdell of Shelburne, brother in-law Phillip Ramsdell Jr and his wife Brooke of West Springfield, 17 nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins and numerous lifelong friends whom she loved dearly. Amanda was predeceased by her father, Ronald Holder on November 5, 2013. A memorial service will be held Saturday 4/25 at 10 a.m. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield. Followed by a celebration of life from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. at the Shelburne Falls Eagles at 52 State St., Shelburne Falls. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. The family requests that contributions be made directly to Kostanski Funeral Home 220 Federal St., Greenfield, MA 01301.
