ASHFIELD - Dennis E. Clark, 65, of 369 Main Street, Ashfield, died Saturday, August 17, at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield after a brief illness.
He was born in Portsmouth, NH, August 13, 1948, the son of Horace A. and Blanche P. (Mace) Clark.
He was a 1968 graduate of Berwick (ME) high school.
Following graduation he enlisted in the US Marines. He served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was later a recipient of the Purple Heart
Prior to retirement in 2003, he had been employed by the Portsmouth Navel Shipyard in Portsmouth, NH, for 32 years.
He and his wife the former Barbara Dyer moved to Ashfield in 2003.
Survivors besides his wife includes his daughter Angela Clark-Locke of Milton, NH; 5 stepchildren James. W., Tammy L., Michael R., Arthur L., William J.; 1 brother Rudy Clark of Portland Me; 3 sisters Janice LaFrance of Berwick, ME, Kathleen Clark also of Berwick, Georgia Letendre of Somersworth, NH; 4 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother and daughter, Michelle.
He was loved and will be missed by all especially by his beloved dog, Roxie.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Plain Cemetery, Ashfield.
