NORTHFIELD - Harry L. Glazier, 66, of Parker Avenue, died Monday (3-17-14) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield.
He was born in Brattleboro, Vt. on May 15, 1947, the son of Clayton and Rena (Tyler) Glazier. Harry was educated in Northfield schools and was a graduate of Pioneer Valley Regional School, Class of 1965. He then graduated from Stockbridge School at the University of Mass.
He married the former Margaret Murphy on Aug. 10, 1974 in Ireland.
He was employed as a sales representative for Berkshire Gas in Greenfield for 26 years.
He was a past president of the Northfield Kiwanis Club and a member of St. Patrick's Church in Northfield.
In the early years, he was very active with the Northfield Athletic Association and Little League in Northfield, where he coached and umpired.
He loved watching his grandchildren participate in all their athletic activities. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities.
He is survived by his wife Margaret of 39 years and his children: Eric and his wife Jennifer of Bernardston and Rena Letourneau and her husband Michael of Erving. He is also survived by two sisters: Donna Bassett and her husband Roger of Northfield and Ella Snow and her husband Peter of Bernardston, and his grandchildren, Joshua, Samuel, William and Jackson Glazier, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday (3-21-14) from the Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave., at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, Main Street, Northfield, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Thomas Lisowski, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Northfield.
