Leonard A. Greenwood

MILLERS FALLS - Leonard A. Greenwood, 88, of West Main Street, died Sunday (4-7-13) at the Buckley HealthCare Center in Greenfield.
He was born in Millers Falls on July 7, 1924, the son of Damon and Alma (Pine) Greenwood. He was a lifelong resident of Millers Falls and was a graduate of Turners Falls High School, Class of 1943.
Leonard was a salesman for Dreikorn's Bakery in Holyoke for 34 years before retiring in 1984.
He was a communicant and a collector at the former St. John's Church and a current communicant at Our Lady of Peace Church in Turners Falls.
Leonard enjoyed travelling, the beach, reading, walking and dancing.
Besides his wife of 47 years, the former Frances A. Rivet, Leonard leaves a brother-in-law, William Chartier of Hartford, CT; a sister-in-law, Sandra Chartier of Los Angeles, CA; two nephews, Brian Chartier and his wife Marianna of Glendale, CA, and Mark Chartier of Los Angeles, CA; a niece, Honor Arnold and her husband Jason of Oregon; a grandniece, Violette Arnold, and several cousins.
Funeral services, all in Turners Falls, will be held Thursday (4-11-13) at 9:15 a.m. from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh St., with the Rev. Stanley J. Aksamit officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Haydenville, MA .
Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening from 4-6 at the funeral home.
