GREENFIELD - Lillian S. (Sullivan) Winseck, 86, a lifelong resident of Greenfield, died peacefully at the home of her daughter, Marcia Winseck, in Cummington on June 15, 2014.
She was born in Salem, MA, on Aug. 1, 1927 to Edward and Helen (Bearse) Sullivan. Lillian attended local schools in Greenfield, graduating from Greenfield High School in 1945.
On Nov. 11, 1948, she was married to John F. Winseck of Greenfield. They were married for 23 years until John's death in 1971.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Lillian was an avid reader and enjoyed reading mysteries. She especially loved the classic movies and the music of the 1940s and 1950s.
Lillian's greatest joy in life, however, was taking care of her family. Her diligence and determination led her to Greenfield Community College where she attained certification in secretarial studies. She was employed at several locations over the years. Among them were the Social Security Administration, Food Services in the Greenfield Public Schools, Wilson's, Franklin County Home Care, and ending her career with working for Atty. Richard Bishop.
She leaves her daughters, Donna Winseck Omata of Boulder, Colo., Marcia E. Winseck of Cummington, MA; her sons, John D. of Turners Falls, and her son, Patrick J. and his wife, Stephanie, of Lititz, PA. In addition, Lillian is survived by her granddaughter, Amy N. Omata of Scottsdale, AZ; her cousin, John P. Widdison and his wife, Eleanor, of Sterling, MA, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Cooley Dickinson Hospital, caregivers, and family friend, Ms. Lucy Leete.
