WINCHESTER,N.H. - Marian A. (McKnight) Brostek, 51, of 259 Rabbit Hollow Road, died on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH following an illness.
Born on February 15, 1961 in Athol, MA, she was a daughter of John and Emma (Copeland) McKnight and grew up in Warwick, MA and graduated from Franklin County Technical School in Turners Falls, MA in 1979.
Marian had worked at the former Orange Foundry and later went to work as a home healthcare assistant. She had also been a caretaker for Glen and Patricia Copeland.
Marian was married to Kevin Brostek.
Marian enjoyed doing word search puzzles, jig saw puzzles, swimming, going to the camp near Lake Winnipesaukee, NH. She enjoyed the Boston Red Sox and having parties with her family and friends.
Marian was a member of the Winchester VFW
and the Winchester Snowmobile Club, which she had made numerous meals for over the years.
Survivors include her husband, Kevin Brostek, of Winchester, NH; daughters, Ellen Lamourex and her husband, Roger, of Millers Falls, MA and Sarah Brostek of Winchester, NH; a brother, Kevin McKnight and his wife, Linda, of Orange, MA; sister in law, Pansy McKnight of Warwick, MA; aunts and uncles, Esther and Earl Redman of Abilene, TX, Rachel and Roger Bergquist of Warwick, MA, and Harold and Patricia Copeland of Rosindale, MA; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Besides her parents, Marian was predeceased by brothers, John McKnight on November 18, 2004, and William McKnight on July 18, 2010.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday afternoon, January 5, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, MA.
A Memorial service and interment in Warwick Center Cemetery will take place in the spring at a date and time to be announced.
