ORANGE - Peter J. Billiel, 50, of 60 Bartlett Lane, died on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Leicester.
Born on Oct. 28, 1962 in Montague, he was a son of Brian and Theresa (Arena) Billiel and grew up in Gill and Turners Falls and graduated from the Turners Falls High School in 1980.
Peter married Donna (Kamins) in 1983 and celebrated their 30th anniversary this year.
Peter served in the Army
National Guard in Co. B 104th Infantry out of Greenfield.
Employed by Renovator's Supply in Millers Falls for several years, Peter then went to work at the Rodney Hunt Co. in Orange, where he became a Sales Engineer and had worked there for over 25 years.
During the 1990's, Peter coached Pop Warner football.
Peter enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Roman, and laughing and being entertained. With his great sense of humor, Peter would get to laughing which in turn became infectious and everyone would be laughing with him. An avid fan of the San Francisco 49'ers Peter also enjoyed being outdoors tending to his lawn and garden, as well as playing with his beloved dog, ""Bear"".
Survivors include his wife, Donna Billiel of Orange; children, Christine Rodriguez and her husband, Oscar, of Orange, Jessica Billiel of Athol, and Jeffrey Billiel of Greenfield; grandson, Roman Rodriguez; brothers, Michael Billiel and his wife, Patrice, of Makodo, Mich., and Joseph Gregory of Massachusetts; his uncle, Fran Carme, and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gary Billiel.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral services and interment in Arms Cemetery, Shelburne Falls, will be private.
