GREENFIELD - Rose (Sauter) Ingham, 94, of Greenfield died at home on Sunday, July 14, 2013.
Born on Feb. 17, 1919 in Athol, she was the daughter of Carl and Bertha (Bryant) Sauter. She was a graduate of Athol High School and Becker Jr. College.
She was married to Robert E. Ingham of Watertown on June 17, 1942. They celebrated nearly 42 years of marriage before his death on May 9, 1984.
Rose was a member of the Unity Church of Greenfield and practiced Unity all her life.
She was a master guide and receptionist in Old Deerfield, until retiring in 2006.
Survivors include her three daughters: Janis Preli and her husband Edward of South Glastonbury, CT, Jill Ingham and her husband William Klein of Greenfield and Joy Ingham of Norton; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one step-randchild, two step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Dr. John Sauter and his wife Margaret of West Chester, PA; brother-in-law, Leslie W. Smith of Athol, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Robert E. Ingham, she was predeceased by siblings Dr. Charles W. Sauter of Gardner, Dr. Frank B. Sauter of Orange and Janis Sauter Smith of Athol.
There will be a private graveside service for Rose in Elm Grove Cemetery, Montague, sometime in the near future.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to WGBY, Unity of Greenfield, NELCWIT or Kurn Hattin. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Home, 14 High St., Greenfield.
