GREENFIELD - Thomas F. Gagner, 61, of Greenfield, died unexpectedly on Tuesday (10-1-13) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, due to complications from pneumonia.
Born on June 15, 1952 in Worcester, he was the son of Joseph and Agnes (Casey) Gagner. He was a 1971 graduate of Greenfield High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force
, honorably discharged at the rank of Pvt.
Tom married the former Doreen M. Clark on July 15, 1998 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a night watchman at Eaglebrook School for 21 years, retiring in 2005. Tom was a 30-year member of the Greenfield Lodge of Elks #1296. He enjoyed old western movies, WWF wrestling, fast cars and trucks and Harley Davidson motorcycles. His social time was spent playing pool and pitch.
Besides his wife Doreen, survivors include three stepdaughters: Amy Pellerin of Greenfield, Jessica Pellerin of Hawley and Stephanie Pellerin of Turners Falls; three step-grandsons: Ashawn Rau and Travis and Riley Graves, and a step-granddaughter, Madelynn Weller. He also leaves two sisters: Pat (Max) Franck and May (John Sr.) Crowley; a sister-in-law, Dee Gagner, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held at the Greenfield Lodge of Elks, 3 Church St., Greenfield, on Friday (10-11-13) from 1 to 4 p.m; please dress casually. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, 104 Bridge St., Shelburne Falls.
