TURNERS FALLS - Anna C. (Pietraszek) Legere, 106, died Thursday (3-7-13) at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.
She was born in Turners Falls on June 26, 1906, the daughter of John and Victoria (Owsiana) Pietraszek. Anna attended local schools in Turners Falls.
She was a spinner at Kendall Mills for 30 years. Previously, she worked at Erving Paper Mill for 20 years.
Anna was a communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and the Ladies Auxilliary VFW of Turners Falls.
She enjoyed crocheting and crafts.
Among her survivors, Anna leaves four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Kukulka and Agnes "Pat" Brown; her siblings, and a grandson, E.J. Brown.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday (3-11-13) at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church with the Rev. Charles J. DiMascola, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls.
