LEYDEN - Claire Louise (Fregeau) Cobb, 76, of South County Road, passed away Friday (2-8-13) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.

She was born in Greenfield to Arthur and Marion (Maynard) Fregeau on April 5, 1936.
Claire attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School, Class of 1954. She worked on the family farm raising the heifer calves. Claire continued her education and graduated from Greenfield Community College in 1973 in the mental health nursing program. She went on to work for the Visiting Nurses Association for over 15 years. Claire was a volunteer at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in the pharmacy and x-ray departments.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose and worked on her 50th graduation committee.
Claire loved snowmobiling, bowling, motorcycling, riding in the convertible, sewing and baking and decorating cakes.
Among her survivors, Claire leaves her husband, Gordon Richard Cobb, whom she was married to on May 17, 1952; two daughters, Debra Dobias (Don) of Florida and Greenfield and Denise Bassett (Don) of Leyden; two grandchildren, Christine Briere (Scott) of Greenfield and Michael Dobias (Kate) of Erving; four great-grandchildren, Joseph Briere, Michael Briere, Jr., and Justin and Trent Dobias; a brother, Richard Fregeau (Linda) of Leyden; a sister, Susan Dion (Lou) of Monkton, VT, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (2-16) at 10 a.m. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal St., Greenfield. Burial will follow in South Cemetery in Leyden.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
