GREENFIELD - David ""Philco"" W. Phillips, 72, a resident of Buckley HealthCare Center, died Monday (1-28-13) at the center.

He was born in Greenfield on Sept. 10, 1940, the son of Leslie I. and Gertrude L. (Andrew) Phillips Sr. Dave was a 1957 graduate of Greenfield High School. He also attended Greenfield Community College.
Dave worked for the former Millers Falls Co. in the shipping and receiving departments, Dirks and Associates, Architects, as a draftsman, and for the Berkshire Gas Co. for 25 years, retiring in 2000.
He was a communicant of the former St. Mary's Church.
He was a life member of the Lodge of Elks and was Elk of the Year in the Greenfield Lodge 2001-2002. Dave also was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.
He served on the Gill-Montague Regional School Committee and the Montague Zoning Board of Appeals.
Dave enjoyed Johnny Cash music, John Wayne movies, collecting vintage model trucks and souvenir hats.
Dave leaves a daughter, Tina M. Phillips of Turners Falls; a stepdaughter, Kristine Choleva and her husband Charles of Turners Falls; two brothers, Richard Phillips of FL and Leslie I. Phillips Jr. of CA, and a grandson, Samuel Dennis Choleva.
A memorial service will be held Thursday (1-31-13) at 7 p.m. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
A Mass of Remembrance will be held on Saturday (3-9-13) at 4 p.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Turners Falls.
