TURNERS FALLS - Eugene F. Guilbault, 87, of Norman Circle died Sunday (7-27-14) at Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility in Greenfield.
He was born in Turners Falls on Feb. 18, 1927, the son of Arthur and Anna (Richards) Guilbault. Eugene attended Turners Falls High School before enlisting in the United States Navy at age 17. He served his country during World War II.
Eugene was a Junior Civil Engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over 30 years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Turners Falls Rod and Gun, loved camping, playing cards, doing crosswords and he adored his dogs.
Besides his wife of 65 years, Lois (Desrosiers) Guilbault, Eugene leaves his daughter, Cecile Guilbault of Wendell; two grandchildren, Mark Guilbault of Naples, FL, and Carol Guilbault of Sammamish, WA; a great-granddaughter, Erika Guilbault of Naples, FL; two sisters, Doris Bruno of Montague City and Simone Markham of Munson, and several nieces and nephews.
Eugene was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Guilbault.
A memorial graveside service will be held held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kostanski Funeral Home.
There will be no calling hours.
