ORANGE - Janet L. (Hemingway) Mallett, 69, of Walnut Hill, died on Monday, June 24, 2013, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester.
Born in Leominster on March 19, 1944, she was a daughter of Donald and Marjorie (Hebert) Hemingway and grew up in Leominster.
Janet was married to Edward A. Mallett on July 30, 1966 and had enjoyed 47 years together.
She had worked at the Millers Falls Tool Co., Athol Box Co. and Frederick's Rubber Co. in Athol.
An avid reader, Janet also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, as well as spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Mallett Sr. of Orange; her children, Walter Hall of Winchendon, Penny Wilder and her husband, Richard, of Wendell, Tina Richardson and her husband, Gary, of Orange, Marie Bezio and her husband, Mike, of Orange, Peggy Fillion and her husband Brian of Ludlow and Edward Mallett Jr. and his wife, Melissa, of New Salem; grandchildren, Bryan Hall, Richard Wilder, Rebecca Wilder, Katie Odenbaugh, Christine Richardson, Garold Richardson, Tony Mallett, Derrick Bezio, Heather Bezio, Brett Fillion, Matthew Fillion, Taylor Mallett and Aaron Mallett; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Hemingway and his wife, Louise, of South Carolina; a sister, Jean Myers and her husband, Charlie, of Fitchburg, and stepbrothers in Georgia, Kenneth Hemingway, David Hemingway, Mark Hemingway and Douglas Hemingway.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange, followed by the service at 11 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in South Cemetery.
