TAMPA, Fla. - Janis Turnbull Pond passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her three loving daughters on March 16, 2013. Janis moved from Green Valley, AZ, to Tampa seven years ago.

She was born in Grosse Point, Michigan, on April 5, 1930 to George and Ester Turnbull. She enjoyed a wonderful childhood with her brother George "Bud" Turnbull in Michigan.
She graduated from Michigan State where she met her lifelong sweetheart, Thomas L. Pond. They were married in June of 1954 in Chelsea, Michigan, and had 52 loving years together.
Tom worked for General Motors and they lived throughout the U.S. raising their three daughters, Mary C. Pond of Tampa, Sara P. Cummings of South Deerfield, MA, and Carol P. Prentice of Los Angeles, CA. She also leaves four grandchildren, Clayton and Chelsea Cummings, Paige and Morgan Prentice, and one great-grandson, Clayton T. Cummings, Jr.
