Peter Brulotte Sr. of Bernardston, Ma., passed away 08/30/2013 at home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Belchertown, Ma., 03/03/1939 he moved to Greenfield in 1951 and to Bernardston, Ma., in 1986.
Peter was an Mechanic in several area dealerships, and operated various service stations until 1967 when he became a Greenfield Police Officer and continued in Law enforcement for most of the remainder of his life. He retired as Bernardston Chief of Police In 2000. After his retirement he continued to work in the Civil Processing division at the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. He was past President and a charter member of the Franklin County Police Chief's Association. He was a lifelong member of several Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Associations. He was a strong supporter of the Police Community.
Peter's biggest source of enjoyment was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed Automobiles, Motorcycles, Boating, Golf and the Outdoors.
He was predeceased by his Wife Shirley Ann Turner in 1993, and a Sister Florence Tauscher in 1995.
Survivors include two Sons , Peter Brulotte Jr., and Perry John Brulotte, three daughters Shawne Osip of St. Cloud, Fl., Sharlene Bedsole of Winter Garden, Fl., and Susan E. Brulotte of Greenfield, Ma., and his longtime friend and companion Sydney J. Gaines. Grandchildren Nick Emerson of Bernardston Ma., Christina Emerson of North Adams Ma., Brittany Muise of Vt., and Aaron Lane of Fl. , also several great-grandchildren.
At his request there are no calling hours and no services, burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations can be made to the Bernardston Police or Fire Department.
