Peter Mushovic passed away on Feb. 18, 2014, due to complications from surgery after care.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1923 in Greenfield, Mass., to Michael and Olga (Kozloff) Mushovic of Belarus.
Peter graduated from Rolla School of Mines (now University of Missouri at Rolla) with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. After serving as a Pharmacist's Mate in the Merchant Marines, he joined the General Motors Company at the Delco Moraine Division. He specialized in manufacturing management and also brake design. He was responsible for several brake patents.
For many years he served as Delco Moraine's Director of Reliability and Quality Control. His career culminated with 3 years as President Director General for General Motors in Paris, France.
During his career, Peter was also active in his community as a basketball coach at his daughters' elementary school, as an active band parent along with his wife, Norma Jean, during the girls' high school years and also as an active Kiwanis member of Centerville, Ohio.
He was predeceased by his brother and sisters, and his wife, Norma Jean Stair.
He is survived by his three daughters and their families: Patricia Mushovic, Terry Mushovic, and Allyson Mushovic (Michael) Shank. Peter also leaves six grandchildren: Simone Secor (Brett) Campbell, Sybil Secor, Camille Secor (Darren) Konkus, Cameron (Renee Hines) Shank, Nicholas and Cooper Shank.
Arrangements for a memorial will be at a future date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to University of Missouri @ Rolla Metallurgical Engineering (giving.mst.edu) or Hospice of Dayton at 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420 (www.hospiceof Dayton.org).
